Common Questions

I HAVE NEVER DONE PILATES BEFORE. WHERE DO I START?

If you have never before tried Pilates, we recommend 3 private lessons to allow us to assess your posture, movement, mobility and strength to suggest the right class for you and to thoroughly teach you the technique. Click here to book

I’VE DONE PILATES BEFORE. DO I NEED TO TAKE BEGINNER CLASS?

Absolutely. Private sessions and beginner classes are the foundation of your Pilates practice. Our group classes employ the unique Pilates equipment, and we need to show you how to use it!

SO MANY CLASSES! HOW DO I KNOW WHAT’S WHAT?

You will find descriptions of each of our classes here. In a nutshell, our classes are limited to 8 or less, and you will either use your body's own resistance or a number of Pilates specific equipment for less or added resistance. Expect a lot of hands on and personal attention.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Comfortable athletic wear, free of buttons, snaps, and zippers. The studio is for both women and men, so please dress accordingly. We do require that you wear socks in our studios, to avoid slipping and hygiene. If you do choose to wear socks, sticky bottom socks are your best bet.

I’M PREGNANT. CAN I DO PILATES?

Yes! Our staff are trained in Prenatal/Postnatal fitness. Moms-to-be can choose between Private and/or Semi Private Sessions. Just contact us.

I HAVE A SHOULDER/BACK/KNEE INJURY. CAN I DO PILATES?

Yes, we know countless modifications for different injuries and limitations. We highly recommend making an appointment for a Private Session before joining group classes in order to learn how to modify exercises appropriately for your condition. Some people because of injury or individual conditions can be better suited to private classes.
